MICHAEL MAJOR
Michael Major is a Master of Architecture Student at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning enrolled in the three year program for students with diverse undergraduate studies. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography and uses his background to help form context in the spaces he studies and creates. His focus on creating structures and spaces which interact with the community they inhabit as part of a larger system shines throughout his work. Michael's drive to to learn more about how architecture can encourage change in a community led to his interest in working on the Mobile Design Box Retrofit Project.
Nominated for Super Jury 2021 for his work on a fall design build site intervention project, Michael's focus on the divisions within a space and subsequently transcending them through his unique approach to design continues to be a theme in his work. Through his contributions to the Mobile Design Box Retrofit Project, Michael hopes not only to explore this notion further, but to further understand the community as a driving factor for the architecture within its bounds.
