TESS RICHARD
Tess is a senior in the Architecture program at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning. Participating in this research with a strong motif of developing community relationships and promoting infrastructure is very much in line with her larger academic and career goals. She hopes to gain further knowledge while becoming an architect who advocates for sustainability and community engagement. This research, as well as the team of professionals, will aid the desire to explore the reality of designing around and for the human, especially within the context of a community. The current condition of social distancing poignantly demonstrates how public spaces and the public infrastructure have such a strong potential to encourage growth and become as asset to any community. Becoming a part of this experience in a setting where the design will be implemented, and real-time observations of the outcome is an invaluable experience and an asset she will be taking to Graduate school in the near future.
